"DOS"
(Uno + Uno)
Addition and Subtraction Game
Number of Players:
Level: Grades 1 and 2
Skills: Addition & Subtraction of 1-digit numbers
What You Need:
Preparation:
Shuffle the deck of Uno cards and deal the cards face down to each player. Make sure each player has an equal amount of cards at the end of the deal. If there are a card or cards left over after each player has an equal amount, place those cards face down in middle of the players. This face down pile is the discard pile.
Place the game-board down on table in the middle of the players.
Object of the Game: To be the first player to get rid of all of their cards!
How To Play:
If the player has a pair of cards that adds or subtracts to a number on a square of the game-board, they say the addition or subtraction statement out loud and then place one of their markers on one square of the game-board that matches their sum or difference. They then get rid of the those two cards by placing them face down in the discard pile.
Once a player covers a square with their marker, no one else, including that player, can use that covered number for their sum or difference.
There are four game-boards.
If you want to make it even more like the classic UNO game, you can keep the "Skip" cards in the deck, and players can use them to skip over players who are down to their last two cards.
